BEHIND THE CIRCUS

City Circus opened its doors in the summer of 2012. Being fierce travellers ourselves, our desire was to create a hostel that suits our philosophy; a hostel that we ourselves would love to stay at; a place that offers accommodation of the highest standards and at the same time enables travellers to interact with each other, share their stories and feel like they are part of a large circus family. Our staff makes sure that every single one of our guests receives personalised treatment to make sure he or she makes the most out of their stay in our city. We really hope that you enjoy the experience of staying with us as much as we do!

THE HISTORY

OF OUR LOVELY VENUE

The two buildings that house City Circus hostel and Zampanó restaurant, are dated from the late 19th century and have been declared historical monuments. Being regarded as the epitome of turn-of-the-century Greek architecture, they are considered a cultural cornerstone of the Psyrri area. The buildings remained largely unused from 1970 until 2011 when the City Circus team discovered it in their search for the ideal location. It was a perfect match. After a whole year of preparations and internal redesign work, City Circus opened its doors in the summer of 2012 and quickly became one of the highest rated hostels in Europe.

After a long day around the city, everyone appreciates a good night's sleep, so we try to keep things quiet after 11:30pm

NO SMOKING HOSTEL

We have a strict no smoking policy throughout the whole building. And yes, that also includes those seemingly hidden spots

Minors are not allowed in shared dormitories but there is the possibility for a family to book a dormitory for exclusive use.Guests at the age of 17 years old may be accepted only with a written parental consent.

Cosy and spacious room adjusted to the needs of women. Full of light with ensuite bathroom and adequate number of mirrors. What more do you need..

A cosy loft with a double bed, kitchenette and an outside sitting area within the common space of our roof top.

Spacious sunny 6 bed dorm with a little balcony. Private bathroom with two showers and huge mirror is situated just across the corridor.

Spacious room with either two single beds or one king-size double. Please don't forget to let us know of your preference after making your reservation.

The main entrance to the building and our 24h reception

These are our most economical private rooms. For the price of two dormitory beds, you get a private room, equipped with a super comfy mattress, air-conditioning and ensuite bathroom. However, if you are light sleepers, be aware that those rooms, being located at sub-level, may have some extra noise.

A spacious, bright dormitory for 8 guests with a comfortable bed layout for more privacy.

Spacious dormitory for 6, with private bathroom.

A private room with 4 beds on two levels, suitable for groups of friends or families. Two of the four single beds can be arranged into one extra large double.

This is our most exclusive room. There is only one and it books fast. Large king-size bed and view of the Acropolis, only in a double set-up.

Inspired by the main character of Federico Fellini’s masterpiece "La Strada," Zampanó takes traditional Greek cuisine to a new level with modern, creative elements always based on fresh, seasonal ingredients from all around the country. Enjoy the incredible view from our roof top. The terrace is open to everyone from 7am till 11:30pm. There's no bar but feel free to buy drinks at the reception and enjoy them upstairs!

Use our photo booth for unique pictures from your visit at City Circus. Dress up and enjoy the feelings of being a clown for a while. Set no limits to your creativity! Our staff will be more than happy to assist you :)
